Charity Activities

George’s charitable involvement is tremendous and where possible he does as much, time allowing, to help in whatever way he can. With his ongoing UK, European & Worldwide clay shooting commitments, along with other business ventures and interests taking up time in between competitions, the available time that George can dedicate to charity work has to be controlled. It would very easy for George, with his immense generosity and desire to help as many people and charities as he possibly can, to almost make it a full time occupation with the number of requests he gets on a weekly basis. Sadly for obvious time reasons he regrettably has to say no to many, as he simply cannot fit them all in.

The GDSA tries to sensibly limit what George can do for charity. To do that the main charities that George is supporting and which are very close to his heart are; The Teenage Cancer Trust, Macmillan Cancer Support, The Lord’s Taverners, Demelza and the Kent & Sussex Air Ambulance. In addition to helping the aforementioned organisations by way of personal appearances, shooting demonstrations, personal group or one-to-one coaching, George tries to help one-off charitable events and requests in a variety of different ways; such as donating signed competition back numbers, signed hats, signed bottles of GD champagne, shirts and other personal items. George’s wife Kate also supports him in his charity by donating auction lots, with successful bidders being able to bid to own Kate’s racehorse for a day at the races, along with lunch paid for by George & Kate.
